Repeat payments and payouts
Once a customer has funded an e-wallet, the same account can be used again when they return. For merchants built around regular purchases, deposits or ongoing account activity, that removes the need to begin a new card journey for every transaction.
Where funds also move back to the customer, the e-wallet can support eligible refunds, withdrawals or payouts through the same account.
Markets and currencies
Depending on the market, customers can fund an e-wallet using supported cards, bank payments or local payment methods. Multi-currency balances and exchange can let them fund, hold and use money in the currencies relevant to them.
Some e-wallets also support transfers between users and linked physical or virtual cards. Where available, these features extend the usefulness of the account beyond the original transaction.

An e-wallet does not need to replace existing acquiring or payment methods. It can sit alongside direct card acceptance, guest checkout, bank payments and local methods.
